Maison et Objet

Maison et Objet

After a slightly fraught, nearly-missing-the-London-train-and-also-Eurostar start to our trip, we had a fantastic day at Maison et Objet in Paris. Maison is the leading home decor fair bringing together lifestyle companies from all over the world with international homeware professionals visiting for inspiration and to source products for retail.

The actual space that Maison occupies is completely enormous and consists of numerous vast halls each filled with hundreds of exhibitors. The layout has changed this year making it doubly difficult to locate the stands you want to see.  Despite the fact that we had a fairly concise list of exhibitors to visit, we nevertheless ended up speed walking (what felt like) about 400 miles from stand to stand. An incident involving the accidental semi-theft of a fabulous new dinner service to match in with other accessories may have contributed quite significantly to the distance we covered over the course of the day - but the less said about that the better!
-
We had a wonderful time catching up with existing suppliers and discovering new businesses and were overawed by the creativity of so many of the stands. As we did so well with our shopping list we were able to go slightly off-piste and source some really interesting accessories to style with our own pieces.
-
We are hoping this new stock will arrive in time for the official opening of our new Fakenham showroom at the end of September where we will be launching our latest collection of textiles. Watch this space for further updates!
