New Art Launch

New Art Launch

We are thrilled to welcome Cornelia O'Donovan to our artist collective and to welcome back Bea Forshall. We also have new work from Linda Jamieson including her first collection of monoprints with us.
Cornelia O’Donovan trained at the Royal College of Art and lives and works in London. Roughly rendered yet delicately arranged, she creates patterned compositions reminiscent of old tapestries into which she plants naive pre-Modern motifs. She draws on tales native to the British Isles, particularly Celtic poetry and myth. Her paintings are flat, stripped of all perspective or realism, their surfaces hazy and meandering like an old tale retold a thousand times. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and overseas.
Cornelia's set of smaller works on board would look wonderful hung together as a group, but would look just as stylish displayed in pairs. We currently have these hung in our showroom on a narrow wall one above the other which looks very effective.

We are very excited about the trio of larger paintings which will be heading our way soon. The colours in these paintings are fabulous and the sizes (between 50 x 50 and 60 x 60) will make them easy to hang in any space.

Artist Bea is a contemporary printmaker who was born in South West France and lived in Catalonia before moving back to the UK. She finds the natural world a constant source of inspiration and her work almost exclusively revolves around animals and conservation. Beatrice's hand finished prints are ever popular with our clients and she has also recently exhibited in Brighton and London.

Bea's prints are such fantastic statement pieces and are the perfect size to hang above a fireplace, behind a sofa or above a key piece of furniture. The Japanese Crane print is our absolute favourite from this current batch of work. The colours are so considered and the composition is fabulous. We have this piece hanging above a sofa in our showroom and it has really lifted the space and brought out the colours in the surrounding homeware.

We have represented Linda for a long time and have loved watching her style develop and change. We are very excited to have monoprints by Linda for the very first time - they are so well priced and would look fantastic hung individually or as a trio. Linda has also added a new painting to our collection in wonderfully rich autumn colours.
