Claire Oxley - Sea Aster

Claire is a Norfolk based artist who studied at the Norwich School of Art, and the Universities of Oxford and Lancaster. A synaesthete with a particular sense for colour and sound, she uses music as a starting point for many of her bold, abstract paintings.

Inspiration for Sea Aster: 

Different hues in similar tones are an interesting way to inject variety into colour schemes. In this work, Sea Aster – a daisy-like flower of mauve and yellow – is surrounded by scrubby, hardy plants, common to the Norfolk coast.
