Claire Oxley - Storm Over Wildflower Meadow
Claire is a Norfolk based artist who studied at the Norwich School of Art, and the Universities of Oxford and Lancaster. A synaesthete with a particular sense for colour and sound, she uses music as a starting point for many of her bold, abstract paintings.
Inspiration for Storm Over Wildflower Meadow:
This field, towards Southwold in Suffolk, is one example of the acres of wildflower plants that are grown by farmers to encourage pollinating insects for other crops. One of the most energising weather events that can happen in East Anglia is a summer electrical storm, where the heat of the day builds and erupts in a downpour and steady flashes of lightening.
