Claire Oxley - Sea Purslane
Claire is a Norfolk based artist who studied at the Norwich School of Art, and the Universities of Oxford and Lancaster. A synaesthete with a particular sense for colour and sound, she uses music as a starting point for many of her bold, abstract paintings.
Inspiration for Sea Purslane:
As with many plants that grow on the North Norfolk coast, Sea Purslane is an edible British sea vegetable. It has pink, star-shaped flowers, but is otherwise a very sagey – almost blue – green, making the pebbles and sands more dramatically contrasting in colour.
