This season marks a turning point for our brand and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our story.

We are a small business based in rural Norfolk, close to the expansive beaches of the beautiful North Norfolk coast, the open farmland to the west and the ancient city of Norwich to the east. All of our designs are created in our Norfolk studio amongst swatches of Indian fabrics, endless colour charts, sketches of interesting shapes and patterns and postcards from far off places. Each design is inspired by global travel; whether to the pink city of Jaipur, the historic churches of Florence or the rolling hills of Northern Kenya. Inspiration found in the landscape and architecture is then sketched into ideas for shapes, patterns and motifs for our designs.

We use traditional techniques where possible and have an extensive network of artisans in India who hand embroider our cushions, weave our rugs on hand-looms and blow our glassware. We support small companies of craftspeople and co-operatives wherever we can and are constantly looking at new ways to be more environmentally and socially conscious.

As we launch Mulaayam for spring/summer we will be shaping our collections in a new way; focusing on unique sourced items, designing for manufacture in small batches and creating very limited editions of our favourite new designs. For the first time we have sourced vintage fabrics from a womens’ cooperative in Kolkata which will be turned into beautiful limited edition cushions by our artisanal makers in Jaipur. Our upcoming collection of unique Suzani rugs has been hand-woven by villagers in remote Northern Afghanistan and our Binga baskets originate from small rural communities in Zimbabwe.

Our global look is completed by our ever-changing selection of Continental antique furniture and our carefully curated collection of contemporary art.
