Claire Oxley - Chicory, Borage, Mallow

Claire is a Norfolk based artist who studied at the Norwich School of Art, and the Universities of Oxford and Lancaster. A synaesthete with a particular sense for colour and sound, she uses music as a starting point for many of her bold, abstract paintings.

Inspiration for Chicory, Borage, Mallow: 

Seemingly forgotten areas of field edges and meadows are a vital part of the ecology of the region. Unexpected colour palettes change almost weekly throughout the summer. The edges of verges and fields are worth exploring.
