Kate Mullock is a botanical artist based in South Devon working in the Cyanotype medium. Taking inspiration from the natural world and her love for bringing the outdoors in, Kate creates natural compositions using real plants, leaves and flowers on textured Cotton Khadi paper. The Cyanotype print process creates a beautiful soft graphic image of the botanical subject in creamy white against a painterly background in stunning shades of blues, teals and aquas. No two prints are ever the same and all pieces are one of originals.

My art captures the organic beauty of the botanical world through nature-inspired compositions created using real plants and flowers. Using the Cyanotype print technique—a blend of alchemy and artistry— the sun’s UV rays react with blue print ingredients to transform the Foxgloves used here into striking impressions. Each piece reflects the intricate textures, shapes, and symmetry of plants in soft, creamy whites set against painterly backgrounds of warm blues, teals, and sea greens.

Each piece is composed on rough cotton rag Khadi paper, its deckled edges and textured surface enhancing the rustic, tactile quality of my work.

This modern, impressionistic approach offers a fresh take on botanical art—looser, more casual, and designed to complement contemporary, eclectic, or country house interiors.
