When will I receive my order?

We will send a confirmation email as soon as your order is dispatched. As our team is small there may be some delays during busy periods but we always strive to dispatch asap. Please check our current lead times here:


Where is my order?

We will send you a confirmation email as soon as your order has been dispatched which will include a delivery tracking number. You will then be able to track your order through the carrier website (DHL) 

What do I do if I’m not going to be at home when my order is due to arrive?

We work with several delivery companies and as soon as your order is dispatched you’ll be updated by the relevant delivery partner. All options for redelivery or leaving parcels in a safe place can be organised with the delivery company directly. 

Can I delay my order?

If your order has not yet been dispatched then please contact us on +44 1328 851 651 to request a delay.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders may be cancelled as long as they have not yet been dispatched. Please confirm your cancellation in writing to warehouse@birdiefortescue.co.uk or via +44 1328 851 651

 Can I amend my order?

Orders may be amended pre-dispatch. Please call our team on +44 1328 851 651 or contact warehouse@birdiefortescue.co.uk. Additional items will be charged to the payment card used for the original order.

I would like to return my order, what do I need to do?

You have a right to return your order under the distance selling regulations for any item purchased on a fixed priced sale for a full refund within 28 days. Please see link below for how to return your order:


What is the returns period?

For full price items 28 days from the day you received your order. For sale items 14 days.

How long will it take my refund to arrive after I’ve returned an item?

As soon as we receive your returned item we will check it and then process your refund. Funds should appear in your bank account on the same or nearest working day. 

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do ship internationally. If your shipping destination country is not recognised at the checkout then please get in touch with us on +44 1328 851 651 or warehouse@birdiefortescue.co.uk for a bespoke quote.

Occasionally we may need to add additional charges for international orders.

How do I choose the right shade for an existing lamp?

As table lamp bases vary so much it’s very hard to predict the exact size you might need. As an approximate guide the diameter of the lampshade base should be roughly the same measurement as the height of the lamp base. For standard lamps opt for our largest size shade.

What is the reducer ring with my lampshade for?

The small white plastic ring that comes with your lampshade snaps neatly into the centre of the bottom of the shade carrier to make the hole the right size to fit a standard B22 (UK) lamp. Our lamps have ES (E27) bulb holders which are larger than the standard B22.  

Why can you see the outline of the shade carrier when the lamp is switched on?

We recommend 40 watt LED bulbs in ‘pearl’ or ‘opal’ finishes rather than clear. Sometimes a higher wattage or clear bulb will create a visible shadow. 

Why does the fitting on my lamp look wonky?

Some of our lamp bulb fittings have a ball joint so that they can be adjusted to suit. Occasionally fittings may move slightly in transit but they can be easily adjusted by carefully manipulating the fitting.

How do I fit your candle shades onto my wall lights?

Our three sizes of candle shade all have a ‘butterfly’ fitting. The two wire loops need to be gently eased apart when the shade is brand new so that they then fit over the top of the bulb.


How do I look after my rattan furniture?

We recommend using a dry soft cloth to wipe our rattan furniture. We also recommend attaching silicon or rubber caps to the base of the chair legs to avoid friction with the floor. This will ensure that the wrapping at the base doesn't get damaged.
