Marina Meredith Owen - New Moon

Self-taught artist Meredith Owen was born in France to Italian parents, but now bases herself in Stratford upon Avon after marrying an Englishman. Taking a lot of inspiration from artists such as Matisse, Picasso and the American impressionists, Meredith immerses herself in the sensuality of colour and shapes, responding to her feelings and never knowing what a piece will look like until its finished. Destroying a lot of her work, Meredith strives to find a sense of joy and mystery within her paintings.  

Inspiration for New Moon:

"The moon is at its most mysterious and beautiful when it starts its new cycle and it fill me with a sense of being part of something bigger than me and I find that consoling."
