SOFT FURNISHINGS

Once of the simplest and easiest ways to refresh your home is to update your soft furnishings. At Birdie Fortescue we love to mix and match new cushions, luxurious throws and add in a new Suzani or Kantha to create a totally fresh look and feel in a space. Our soft furnishings collection has been carefully designed curated by Birdie to all layer harmoniously, allowing you to find your signature style whilst still creating a look that works.

As a general rule of thumb for rugs, we feel that bigger is better. A rug that is too small in a room can make the space immediately feel smaller. Before purchasing your rug, accurately measure your space and where your rug will be positioned. If you have furniture in your room, you will want the rug to sit under the furniture legs (at least the front two for a sofa) and for there to be rug visible from either side. A bigger rug will enhance your space and can finish a room.

You can wash your cushion cover if needed, however, we do recommend a cold hand wash to increase the longevity of the covers.

This depends on the material of the rug and where it is positioned in the home. If you are looking for a rug that will be in a busy area of your home, such as a hallway or kitchen, we recommend opting for a robust jute rug or a jute/wool mix. When choosing a rug for a bedroom, living room or a less busy area of the home, then you can choose a wool rug with a deep pile for a more luxurious finish.
