Andrea Curtis explores colour, pattern and still life through a combination of print, collage and drawing. At first glance, her work appears deceptively simple but look deeper and you see her unique language of marks and colour combinations are given depth and texture by layering of tissue and painted papers.
Still life and flowers have always been favourite subjects. She is fascinated by the stories that can be told simply by a collection of objects. Much of her work is inspired by holidays abroad and her love of plants - the patterns, shapes and colours all giving a sense of place.
