Raffia Fibre
Raffia fibre comes from the raphia palm tree found in South East Asia, South America and Madagascar. The harvesting of Raffia is a sustainable practice which leaves the Raffia plant unharmed. Its’ leaves are harvested, stripped and dried in the sun and separated for its different uses before being sent off to be woven, dyed, and designed in various ways. Like jute, Raffia is a hard-wearing and durable material - perfect for lampshades and other homewares. The natural woven texture of our lampshades allows light to gently diffuse through, giving off a wonderful, warm glow.

To compliment our SS23 Florentine collection, this season of Seema Raffia Lampahdes are bound in new tones of pink, green, blue and neutral for the summer season. Paper Raffia
New for Spring/ Summer, our Paper Raffia Striped Lampshades use raffia in a different way whereby layers of natural raffia are wrapped around the shade. The playful design creates an airy and informal look, allowing soft light to gently shine through the textured paper raffia. The colourful stripes add a fun hint of colour whilst still keeping the earthy feel and rustic nature of the materials.
